I had a hunch that there might be wood floors under the vinyl in the kitchen a few weeks ago, and after some prodding and scraping, it was confirmed. Yippee!
It's the same maple hardwood that is in the front rooms, such a lucky break.
Paul is particularly relieved that it also continues into the kitchen nook. The vinyl cork-colored floor that we had put down (over the old vinyl) has never properly set, even after six months time. It's been the source of some marital strife, that over-glued and lumpy floor. Someone didn't read the instructions.
I am confident that the refinishing of the newly found wood floors will go better. I plan to call the professionals!
