how does your garden grow?

my earlier letter-writing challenge brought some folks out of the woodwork. i am still receiving unexpected and delightful letters in the post. yesterday, a bright blue cheerful card from adorably teenager-y cousin Alice. this morning, a very nice legal-pad letter (legible!) from Dad in Wisconsin, complete with photos of his back forty and well-tended garden. now though, where is he in the pictures? he's not actually in any of them, bless him. i kept double checking to make sure he wasn't hiding behind the tomatoes or anything, but no, he's not that small. so let's just say he's represented by that nifty red garden tractor.
